The objective of this project was to learn how to develop a character though video. By creating a 2-3-minute narrated video, we were required to introduce a central character (or someone in our life). This project was a collaboration with Lorenzo (aka Masta Pharaoh, the subject). The medium used was intended to unfold the multi-dimensionality of the persona as the video progressed—answering questions like, what is their life like and how can the audience identify with this character.

Masta Pharaoh is a twenty-something with a grungy, Afro-Punk vibe. His rebel mane matches his rebel aesthetic, speaking the truth through his lyrics and rhyming with passion. He works to be free from the shackles of the system and the sterotypes of society by pushing himself to tbe the best at what he does. Masta meaning ‘masterful’ and pharaoh meaning ‘that which you will become,’ this master has something to show the world – something that is guaranteed to inspire.

Pharaoh and I developed a mood board based on the look and feel we were going for. The images are warm, inviting, and have a strong sense of color. GxAce. “Fuji X-T3 Long Term Review.
